Over the past five years bed bugs have become an extreme problem for the Tri-state area. Working for a pest control company I find myself doing bed bug treatments more and more; something I treated once a month has now become a service I do daily. The bed bug epidemic has grown substantially, although great for me financially it's not great for those living with this nuisance of an insect. Many people ask how do I prevent bed bugs ? I tell them don't take the bus, don't go outside, don't allow your kids to go to school, don't stay at hotels, don't have visitors, pretty much conceal yourself within your homes; seriously there is no way to prevent bed bugs . Realistically, the following are simple things you can do to help reduce your risk for bed bugs :
1. Wipe your feet when you enter your home because eggs can hide in between the creases of the bottom of your shoe.
2. Vacuum floors frequently and discard vacuum bags. Eggs like to hide in carpets
3. The second you expect bed bug existence in your home contact a pest control expert and schedule a free inspection.
